Watch the following selection of all of the goals scored by Manchester City during their 2018-2019 Premier League Season. Select 8-10 goals and analyze them. In doing so jot down notes on each of the goals. There is no need to record who scores them but rather examine how they are scored. Take note of the following factors, among others: Where on the field is the goal scored from? Look at both the area of the field and distance to the goal. Is the goal scored out of creative individual effort or through combination play? If individual effort where on the field did the goal scorer gain possession of the ball? If through combination play how and in what manner was the ball played into the goal scorer? (for example was it a lofted cross, a grounded cross, and ball over the top, etc. ) If the ball is played into the goal scorer from where on the field has the ball been played? Did you note other factors to consider?

As you pick your goals for analysis jot down the time in the clip that the goal is scored so that it can be referred to in our main coaching development session.
