Columbus United:Use of Logos and Uniform Policy

 

In an effort to consistently brand and market Columbus United Soccer Club, its programs, teams, and events as well as maintain a consistent appearance and comply with our sponsorship agreements the following policies are in effect.
Use of Name and Logo
1. The Columbus United logo (shield) is a legally protected trademark. It can not be used, reproduced, or copied in any manner without the express written consent of the CSO Board of Directors.
2. The name “Columbus United Soccer Club”  is a legally protected trademark. It can not be used, reproduced, or copied in any manner without the express written consent of the CSO Board of Directors. 
3. The use of term Columbus United as it relates to apparel, events, programs, printed material, or any other use in association with or reasonable connection to Columbus United Soccer Club is also forbidden. 
 
The exception to #2 & #3 is the use of the names for approved fundraising and use by officials, coaches, etc. during the normal course of operations. 
 
For the 2022-2023 season the exclusive supplier of Columbus United fan gear is Soccer.com. 
 
Uniforms
 
1. All players with Columbus United must purchase their kit from the approved supplier and must wear that uniform only for competition with Columbus United teams.
2. Uniforms may not be altered in any way or supplemental pieces/colors added to the approved uniform kits. This includes, but is not limited to game uniforms, training uniforms, warm-up uniforms, backpacks and bags. This includes the addition of sponsors names or logos.
3.  Teams may elect to add the last name of players to the back of their uniforms. The following guidelines must be met
    a. All names must be of a uniform font, size, and color
    b. All uniforms must have the last name added
    c. Only the last name of the player may be added. No first names or nicknames. The exception to this is the addition of an initial if a team has more than one player with the same last name.

    d. New players to a team that has chosen to add the last name must comply with the uniform of the team.

4. A player whose uniform is not in compliance with the club uniform policy will not be allowed participate in competitive play and can be removed from such.
5. A player not in compliance can not return to play until compliant.

Coaches are expected to help make parents aware of the policy and help enforce it on their respective teams. Coaches should remain aware that part of their position is to abide by and help enforce club policies.
